More than just a process, universal design and active design represent a set of good practices that should be kept in mind from the very beginning of a project to ensure the right orientations are established from the outset.
The training sessions and awareness programs we offer help participants grasp the core concepts and adopt the right reflexes, through a participatory approach.
We offer three training modules:
Overview of the main types of disabilities, their impact on daily mobility, and best practices to integrate these considerations into planning and design projects
Universal design: theoretical foundations and practical applications
Active design: key principles and concrete examples
Our awareness workshops allow participants to better understand, in a playful and collaborative way, the impact disabilities can have on daily life, and to learn how to design products that meet the needs of everyone. These workshops unfold in three stages:
Introduction: presentation of the key principles of universal design
Hands-on workshop with role play: participants are invited to rethink the design of an everyday object from a universal perspective, while experiencing the challenges faced by persons with disabilities
Debrief and feedback session: each group presents proposals for improving the use of the object; this is followed by a collective discussion on the relevance of the solutions and their adequacy for different types of impairments
Our key strengths:
Extensive teaching experience with both professional and academic audiences (lecturer in a specialized master’s program since 2014)
A flexible set of training and awareness formats, adaptable to client needs
